Performative research project dedicated to the Kyiv period of the Ukrainian dancer and choreographer of Polish origin Bronislava Nijinska

The final work of the performative research project "Bronislava Nijinska", dedicated to the Kyiv period of the Ukrainian dancer and choreographer of Polish origin Bronislava Nijinska (1916-20s).

The lecture-performance is based on archival materials and works of Ukrainian and foreign researchers of dance and theater.

The performance by the method of dance reconstruction reflects the process of formation of dance art in Ukraine in 10-20 years of the XX century and its close connection to other arts. So, it clearly demonstrates how proto-modern dance was formed - from preconditions and searches to innovations and its influence on modern techniques.

The project is implemented by the Ruban Production ITP team with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.

Project partners: Museum of the Ukrainian Diaspora Lesya Kurbas Center Museum of Theater, Music and Cinematography of Ukraine OpenTheatre Braty Art Studio.
